It is narrated from Sayyiduna Imran bin Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him) that he saw a man with a brass ring on his upper arm and asked him: What is this? He said: It was prescribed to me for wahinah (pain in the shoulder). He said: Beware, if you die in this state, you will be left to rely on it. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "He is not one of us who takes bad omens or has bad omens taken for him, or who practises soothsaying or has soothsaying done for him" - the narrator said: I think he (peace and blessings be upon him) also said: "or who practises sorcery or has sorcery done for him."
