It is narrated from Sayyiduna Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man among those before you instructed that when he died his body should be burned, then ground, then lifted up, and when a violent wind blew, it should be scattered in it. So Allah gathered him to Himself and said: "Woe to you! What made you do this?" He said: "O my Lord, no servant of Yours was bolder against You than me, nor more disobedient to You than me, but I hoped that in this way I would escape." So he was forgiven. Sayyiduna Abu Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I heard this hadith in the same way from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him).

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man was brought before his Lord, the Mighty and Majestic, and Allah said: "What did you do for Me in the world?" He said: "I did not do for You even an atom's weight of good by which I could hope, except that You had given me wealth, and I used to deal with people, and it was in my nature to pardon; I was lenient with the well-off and gave respite to the one in hardship." Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, said: "We are more deserving of that, so pardon My servant." So he was forgiven. Sayyiduna Abu Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I heard this hadith in the same way from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him).
