Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrated: A man from Banu Amir came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and he used to practise healing. He said: O Muhammad, you say certain things; would you like me to treat you? The narrator said: So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) invited him to Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, then said: "Would you like me to show you a sign?" There was a date palm and a tree near him. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) called one of its branches, and it came towards him (peace and blessings be upon him), prostrating and raising its head, until it reached him (peace and blessings be upon him) and stood in front of him (peace and blessings be upon him). Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to it: "Go back to your place." So it returned to its place. The Amiri said: By Allah, I will never deny anything you say. Then he said: O Banu Sa'sa'ah, by Allah, I will never call anything he says a lie.

Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: We were washing the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) when a man came and knocked at the door. He said: I adjure you by Allah to give me a share today in (the service of) the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). So Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Let him in, and place him behind the curtain so that he can hand us the water. So we let him in, and he kept handing us the water. Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said: By Allah, whenever I turned (his (peace and blessings be upon him) body) over, I would feel that someone else was turning it over with me. The narrator said: And I heard (a voice) in the house: Do not take his shirt off him.

Salim bin Abi al-Ja'd (may Allah have mercy on him) narrated: I was sitting with Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) when a man came to him and said: What is your view about a person who killed a believer deliberately, then repented, believed, did righteous deeds and remained on guidance? He said: How will repentance be granted to him, when I heard your Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "On the Day of Resurrection, the closest of creation to the Throne of the Most Merciful will be the believer who was killed unjustly. His head will be on his right side and his killer on his left, and blood will be gushing from his veins. He will say: 'My Lord, ask this one why he killed me? Why did he prevent me from praying?'"
