حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْمَرْوَزِيُّ، ثنا مُطَهَّرُ بْنُ الْحَكَمِ الْمَرْوَزِيُّ، ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ وَاقِدٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي لَيْثُ بْنُ أَبِي سُلَيْمٍ، عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ قَالَ: كُنْتُ جَالِسًا عِنْدَ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ إِذْ جَاءَهُ رَجُلٌ , فَقَالَ: أَرَأَيْتَ مَنْ قَتَلَ مُؤْمِنًا مُتَعَمِّدًا ثُمَّ تَابَ وَآمَنَ وَعَمِلَ عَمَلًا صَالِحًا ثُمَّ اهْتَدَى، قَالَ: وَأَنَّى لَهُ التَّوْبَةُ، وَقَدْ سَمِعْتُ نَبِيَّكُمْ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: " إِنَّ أَقْرَبَ الْخَلَائِقِ مِنْ عَرْشِ الرَّحْمَنِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ الْمُؤْمِنُ الَّذِي قُتِلَ مَظْلُومًا: رَأْسُهُ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ، وَقَاتِلُهُ عَنْ شِمَالِهِ، وَأَوْدَاجُهُ يَشْخَبُ يَقُولُ: رَبِّ سَلْ هَذَا فِيمَ قَتَلَنِي؟ فِيمَ حَالَ بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَ الصَّلَاةِ؟ "
Salim bin Abi al-Ja'd (may Allah have mercy on him) narrated: I was sitting with Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) when a man came to him and said: What is your view about a person who killed a believer deliberately, then repented, believed, did righteous deeds and remained on guidance? He said: How will repentance be granted to him, when I heard your Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "On the Day of Resurrection, the closest of creation to the Throne of the Most Merciful will be the believer who was killed unjustly. His head will be on his right side and his killer on his left, and blood will be gushing from his veins. He will say: 'My Lord, ask this one why he killed me? Why did he prevent me from praying?'"
