News reached Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that Sayyiduna Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) had prayed four rak'ahs at Mina. Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I prayed two rak'ahs at a time with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), two rak'ahs at a time with Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him), and two rak'ahs at a time with Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him). Then your paths diverged. Would that my share of the four rak'ahs were two accepted rak'ahs.
