حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زَيْدٍ الْحَوْطِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو الْيَمَانِ الْحَكَمُ بْنُ نَافِعٍ، ثنا أَرْطَاةُ بْنُ الْمُنْذِرِ، عَنْ ضَمْرَةَ بْنِ حَبِيبٍ، عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ نُفَيْلٍ، قَالَ: بَيْنَا نَحْنُ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذْ سَأَلَهُ سَائِلٌ: هَلْ أُتِيتَ بِطَعَامٍ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ؟ قَالَ: «نَعَمْ أُتِيتُ بِطَعَامٍ بِمِسْخَنَةٍ» , فَقَالَ: يَا نَبِيَّ اللهِ , مَا كَانَ فِيهَا مِنْ فَضْلٍ عَنْكَ؟ قَالَ: «نَعَمْ» ، قَالَ: فَمَا فُعِلَ بِهِ؟ قَالَ: " رُفِعَ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ , وَهُوَ يُوحَى إِلَيَّ أَنِّي غَيْرُ لَابِثٍ فِيكُمْ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا، ثُمَّ لَسْتُمْ لَابِثِينَ بَعْدِي إِلَّا قَلِيلًا، تَقُولُونَ: مَتَى مَتَى؟ ثُمَّ تَأْتُونَ أَفْنَادًا وَبَيْنَ يَدَيِ السَّاعَةِ مُوتَانٌ شَدِيدٌ، وَبَعْدَهُ سَنَوَاتُ الزَّلَازِلِ "
Sayyiduna Salamah bin Nufayl (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: We were with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) when a questioner asked him: Was food brought to you from heaven? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Yes, food was brought to me in a heated pot." He said: O Prophet of Allah, was anything left over after you? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Yes." He asked: Then what was done with it? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "It was raised up to heaven. And it is being revealed to me that I will remain among you only a short while, then you too will remain after me only a short while. You will say: When? When? Then you will come in group after group, and before the Hour there will be a severe pestilence of death, and after it years of earthquakes."
حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ زَبْرِيقٍ الْحِمْصِيُّ، ثنا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، ثنا هَانِئُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي عَبْلَةَ، عَنْ عَمِّهِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ أَبِي عَبْلَةَ، عَنِ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ نُفَيْرٍ، عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ نُفَيْلٍ، قَالَ: كُنْتُ جَالِسًا عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , فَقَالَ: «يُوحَى إِلَيَّ أَنِّي مَقْبُوضٌ غَيْرُ مُلَبَّثٍ، وَأَنَّكُمْ مُتَّبِعِيَّ أَفْنَادًا، يَضْرِبُ بَعْضُكُمْ رِقَابَ بَعْضٍ، وَلَا يَزَالُ مِنْ أُمَّتِي نَاسٌ يُقَاتِلُونَ عَلَى الْحَقِّ، وَيُزِيغُ اللهُ بِهِمْ قُلُوبَ أَقْوَامٍ، وَيَرْزُقُهُمُ اللهُ مِنْهُمْ , حَتَّى تَقُومَ السَّاعَةُ، وَحَتَّى يَأْتِيَ وَعَدُ اللهِ»
«وَالْخَيْلُ مَعْقُودٌ فِي نَوَاصِيهَا الْخَيْرُ إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ، وَعُقْرُ دَارِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ بِالشَّامِ»
«وَالْخَيْلُ مَعْقُودٌ فِي نَوَاصِيهَا الْخَيْرُ إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ، وَعُقْرُ دَارِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ بِالشَّامِ»
Sayyiduna Salamah bin Nufayl (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I was sitting with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) when he said: "It is revealed to me that I am about to be taken, without delay, and that you will follow me in group after group, some of you striking the necks of others. And there will always be people of my Ummah fighting upon the truth; through them Allah will cause the hearts of some people to deviate, and Allah will grant them provision from them, until the Hour is established, and until the promise of Allah comes."

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ، ثنا أَبُو الْيَمَانِ، ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ، عَنِ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ سَهْلٍ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ يُوسُفَ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ سَالِمٍ الْحِمْصِيُّ، حَدَّثَنِي إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ الْأَفْطَسُ، عَنِ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْجُرَشِيِّ، عَنْ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ نُفَيْرٍ، حَدَّثَنِي سَلَمَةُ بْنُ نُفَيْلٍ السَّكُونِيُّ، قَالَ: دَنَوْتُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , حَتَّى كَادَتْ رُكْبَتَايَ تَمَسَّانِ فَخِدَهُ، فَقُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، تُرِكَتِ الْخَيْلُ، وَأُلْقِيَ السِّلَاحُ، وَزَعَمَ أَقْوَامٌ أَنْ لَا قِتَالَ فَقَالَ: «كَذَبُوا، الْآنَ جَاءَ الْقِتَالُ، لَا تَزَالُ مِنْ أُمَّتِي أُمَّةٌ قَائِمَةٌ عَلَى الْحَقِّ، ظَاهِرَةٌ عَلَى النَّاسِ، يُزِيغُ اللهُ قُلُوبَ قَوْمٍ قَاتَلُوهُمْ لِيَنَالُوا مِنْهُمْ» ، وَقَالَ وَهُوَ مُوَلٍّ ظَهْرَهُ إِلَى الْيَمَنِ: «إِنِّي أَجِدُ نَفَسَ الرَّحْمَنِ مِنْ هَهُنَا، وَلَقَدْ أَوْحَيَ إِلَيَّ مَكْفُوتٌ غَيْرُ مُلَبَّثٍ، وَتَتْبَعُونِي أَفْنَادًا»
«وَالْخَيْلُ مَعْقُودٌ فِي نَوَاصِيهَا الْخَيْرُ إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ، وَأَهْلُهَا مُعَانُونَ عَلَيْهَا»
«وَالْخَيْلُ مَعْقُودٌ فِي نَوَاصِيهَا الْخَيْرُ إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ، وَأَهْلُهَا مُعَانُونَ عَلَيْهَا»
Sayyiduna Salamah bin Nufayl (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I drew near to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) until my knees almost touched his (peace and blessings be upon him) thigh, and I said: O Messenger of Allah, horses have been abandoned, weapons have been laid down, and some people claim that there will be no more fighting. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "They have lied. Now fighting has come. A group of my Ummah will always remain established upon the truth and prevail over the people. Allah will cause the hearts of the people who fight them to deviate, so that they (the believers) may gain from them." And with his back turned towards Yemen, he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I perceive the breath of the Most Merciful from here. And it has been revealed to me that I am about to be taken, without delay, and you will follow after me in group after group."

حَدَّثَنَا وَرْدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ لَبِيدٍ الْبَيْرُوتِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا صَفْوَانُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، ثنا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُهَاجِرٍ، أَنَّ الْوَلِيدَ بْنَ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، حَدَّثَهُ عَنْ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ نُفَيْرٍ، عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ نُفَيْلٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «عُقْرُ دَارِ الْإِسْلَامِ بِالشَّامِ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Salamah bin Nufayl (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The heartland of the abode of Islam is in Sham (Syria)."
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ حَمْزَةَ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، حَدَّثَنِي نَصْرُ بْنُ عَلْقَمَةَ، يَرُدُّ الْحَدِيثَ إِلَى جُبَيْرِ بْنِ نُفَيْرٍ، عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ نُفَيْلٍ، قَالَ: بَيْنَمَا أَنَا جَالِسٌ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , إِذْ جَاءَهُ رَجُلٌ , فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، إِنَّ الْخَيْلَ قَدْ سُيِّبَتْ، وَوُضِعَ السِّلَاحُ، وَزَعَمَ أَقْوَامٌ أَنْ لَا قِتَالَ، وَأَنْ قَدْ وَضَعَتِ الْحَرْبُ أَوْزَارَهَا؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «كَذَبُوا , فَالْآنَ جَاءَ الْقِتَالُ، وَلَا تَزَالُ طَائِفَةٌ مِنْ أُمَّتِي يُقَاتِلُونَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ لَا يَضُرُّهُمْ مَنْ خَالَفَهُمْ، يُزِيغُ اللهُ قُلُوبَ قَوْمٍ لِيَرْزُقَهُمْ مِنْهُمْ، وَيُقَاتِلُونَ حَتَّى تَقُومَ السَّاعَةُ، وَلَا يَزَالُ الْخَيْلُ مَعْقُودًا فِي نَوَاصِيهَا الْخَيْرُ حَتَّى تَقُومَ السَّاعَةُ، وَلَا تَضَعُ الْحَرْبُ أَوْزَارَهَا، حَتَّى يَخْرُجَ يَأْجُوجُ وَمَأْجُوجُ»
Sayyiduna Salamah bin Nufayl (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I was sitting with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) when a man came and said: O Messenger of Allah, horses have been let loose, weapons have been laid down, and some people claim that there will be no more fighting, and that war has laid down its burdens? The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "They have lied. Now fighting has come. A group of my Ummah will always continue to fight in the path of Allah; those who oppose them will not harm them. Allah will cause the hearts of some people to deviate in order to provide for them (the believers) from them, and they will keep fighting until the Hour is established. Goodness will remain tied to the forelocks of horses until the Hour is established, and war will not lay down its burdens until Gog and Magog (Ya'juj and Ma'juj) come forth."
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ سَعْدِ بْنِ يَحْيَى الرَّقِّيُّ، ثنا أَبُو فَرْوَةَ يَزِيدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ بْنِ سِنَانٍ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، ثنا يَاسِينُ الزَّيَّاتُ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ الْحِمْصِيِّ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ جَابِرٍ، عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ نُفَيْلٍ، قَالَ: جَاءَ شَابٌّ، فَقَامَ بَيْنَ يَدَيْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ بِأَعْلَى صَوْتِهِ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، أَرَأَيْتَ مَنْ لَمْ يَدَعْ سَيِّئَةً إِلَّا عَمِلَهَا , وَلَا خَطِيئَةً إِلَّا رَكِبَهَا، وَلَا أَشْرَفَ لَهُ سَهْمٌ فَمَا فَوْقَهُ إِلَّا اقْتَطَعَهُ بِيَمِينِهِ، وَمَنْ لَوْ قُسِّمَتْ خَطَايَاهُ عَلَى أَهْلِ الْمَدِينَةِ لَغَمَرَتْهُمْ؟ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «أَسْلَمْتَ؟» أَوْ: «أَنْتَ مُسْلِمٌ؟» قَالَ: أَمَّا أَنَا , فَأَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ، وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُولُ اللهِ، قَالَ: «اذْهَبْ , فَقَدْ بَدَّلَ اللهُ سَيِّئَاتِكَ حَسَنَاتٍ» قَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، وَغَدَرَاتِي وَفَجَرَاتِي؟ قَالَ: «وَغَدَرَاتُكَ وَفَجَرَاتُكَ» ثَلَاثًا فَوَلَّى الشَّابُّ، وَهُوَ يَقُولُ: اللهُ أَكْبَرُ، فَلَمْ أَزَلْ أَسْمَعُهُ يُكَبِّرُ، حَتَّى تَوَارَى عَنِّي، أَوْ خَفِيَ عَنِّي
Sayyiduna Salamah bin Nufayl (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: A young man came and stood before the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and said in his loudest voice: O Messenger of Allah, what do you say about a person who has left no evil deed undone but has committed it, and no sin but has perpetrated it, and no share or anything greater has come within his reach but he has seized it through his oath; a person whose sins, if they were distributed among the people of Madinah, would overwhelm them? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "Have you accepted Islam?" or he said: "Are you a Muslim?" He said: As for me, I bear witness that there is no true god except Allah, and that Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) is the Messenger of Allah. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Go, for Allah has changed your evil deeds into good deeds." He said: O Messenger of Allah, and my betrayals and my acts of wickedness too? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Your betrayals and your acts of wickedness too" - he said it three times. So the young man turned away saying: Allahu akbar (Allah is the Greatest), and I kept hearing him say the takbir until he disappeared from my sight.
