Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 6333 — Sayyiduna Ayyash bin Abi Rabi'ah

Abd al-Malik bin Abi Bakr (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates: Sayyiduna Ayyash bin Abi Rabi'ah, Sayyiduna Salamah bin Hisham and Sayyiduna al-Walid bin al-Walid bin al-Mughirah (may Allah be pleased with them) fled from the polytheists and set out towards the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Ayyash and Salamah were riding one behind the other on a camel, and al-Walid was driving it for them. Al-Walid's finger was wounded, so he said (in rajaz verse): "You are nothing but a finger that has bled, and what you have met is in the path of Allah." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to know of their setting out towards him and of their situation before the people knew. So he (peace and blessings be upon him) led the Fajr prayer, and bowed in the first of its two rak'ahs; then when he raised his head, before prostrating, he supplicated for them, saying: "O Allah, rescue Ayyash bin Abi Rabi'ah. O Allah, rescue Salamah bin Hisham. O Allah, rescue al-Walid. O Allah, rescue the oppressed among the believers. O Allah, make Your grip severe upon the tribe of Mudar, and impose upon them years like the years (of famine) of Yusuf (peace be upon him)."
