Muhammad bin Hamzah bin Amr al-Aslami narrates from his father that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) appointed him commander of a detachment. Hamzah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I set out on that expedition, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If you capture so-and-so, burn him with fire." Then when I turned to go, he (peace and blessings be upon him) called out to me and said: "If you capture him, kill him, for no one has the right to punish with fire except the Lord of the Fire."

Hamzah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: We were on a journey with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) when, on an extremely dark and pitch-black night, the mounts bolted. Then my fingers lit up, until the people gathered their mounts and their fallen belongings by their light, and my fingers were truly shining.

Hamzah bin Amr al-Aslami (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The food of the Companions of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was prepared by the hands of his Companions in turns, one person one night and another the next. One night my turn came, so I prepared the food for the Companions of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). I left the skin of ghee and did not tie its mouth, and took the food to him (peace and blessings be upon him). The skin moved and what was in it spilled out. I said: "Has the food of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) been spilled at my hands?" The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Bring it near." I said: "O Messenger of Allah, I cannot do it." So I went back to my place, and suddenly the skin of ghee began to make a sound: qab, qab. I said: "Enough! Some leftover portion must have spilled." Then I looked inside and found it was full up to its two edges, so I picked it up, came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and told him. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Listen, had you left it, it would have filled up to its mouth, and then it would have been tied."

Hamzah bin Amr al-Aslami (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) set out for the Battle of Tabuk, and on that journey his service (peace and blessings be upon him) was my responsibility. I looked at the skin of ghee and saw that only a little was left in it. I prepared food for the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), then placed the skin in the sun and went to sleep. I was woken by the gurgling sound of the skin, so I got up and held its mouth with my hand. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), seeing me, said: "Had you left it, it would have flooded the whole valley with ghee."

Hamzah bin Amr al-Aslami (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I said: "O Messenger of Allah, I am an owner of riding animals; I look after them, travel on them and hire them out. Often this month, that is Ramadan, comes upon me (while travelling), while I find strength and I am young. O Messenger of Allah, I find fasting easier for me than postponing it so that it becomes a debt upon me. So, O Messenger of Allah, should I fast, which would be greater for my reward, or should I break my fast?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Hamzah, whichever of these you wish."

Hamzah bin Amr al-Aslami (may Allah be pleased with him), who was a Companion of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) sent him along with a group as a detachment against a man from among his enemies, and said: "If you overpower so-and-so, burn him with fire." The narrator says: I asked him (Hamzah, may Allah be pleased with him) about fasting while travelling, and he said: We used to both fast and break our fast while travelling, and the one not fasting would not find fault with the one fasting, nor the one fasting with the one not fasting.

Hamzah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I ate food with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Eat with your right hand, eat from what is in front of you, and mention the name of Allah."
Al-Hadrami said: I heard Minjab bin al-Harith say: This is a mistake that Sharik made. Ali bin Mushir narrated this same report to us from Hisham bin Urwah, from his father, from Umar bin Abi Salamah, from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), in the same way. The correct narrator is Umar bin Abi Salamah; narrating it in the name of Hamzah bin Amr is not correct, and Sharik made a mistake in it.
