Hamzah bin Amr al-Aslami (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The food of the Companions of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was prepared by the hands of his Companions in turns, one person one night and another the next. One night my turn came, so I prepared the food for the Companions of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). I left the skin of ghee and did not tie its mouth, and took the food to him (peace and blessings be upon him). The skin moved and what was in it spilled out. I said: "Has the food of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) been spilled at my hands?" The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Bring it near." I said: "O Messenger of Allah, I cannot do it." So I went back to my place, and suddenly the skin of ghee began to make a sound: qab, qab. I said: "Enough! Some leftover portion must have spilled." Then I looked inside and found it was full up to its two edges, so I picked it up, came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and told him. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Listen, had you left it, it would have filled up to its mouth, and then it would have been tied."
