حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ نَاجِيَةَ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ بْنِ أَبَانَ، ثنا أَبُو خَالِدٍ الْأَحْمَرُ، ثنا حَجَّاجٌ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ، عَنْ زِرٍّ، عَنْ صَفْوَانَ بْنِ عَسَّالٍ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى الله عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمْ، قَالَ فِي الْمَسْحِ: «لِلْمُسَافِرِ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ ثَلَاثَةُ أَيَّامٍ وَلَيَالِيهِنَّ، وَلِلْمُقِيمِ يَوْمٌ وَلَيْلَةٌ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Safwan bin Assal (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said about wiping: "For the traveller, (wiping) over the leather socks is three days and nights, and for the resident a day and a night."
