حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ نَاجِيَةَ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ عُمَرُ بْنُ أَبَانَ، ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّحِيمِ بْنِ سُلَيْمَانَ، عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ حَسَّانَ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ، عَنْ زِرٍّ، عَنْ صَفْوَانَ بْنِ عَسَّالٍ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى الله عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمْ قَالَ فِي الْمَسْحِ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ: «لِلْمُسَافِرِ ثَلَاثَةُ أَيَّامٍ وَلَيَالِيهِنَّ، وَلِلْمُقِيمِ يَوْمٌ وَلَيْلَةٌ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Safwan bin Assal (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said about wiping over the leather socks: "Three days and nights for the traveller, and a day and a night for the resident."
