Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) says: When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) arrived in Makkah during the Farewell Hajj, he said to his Companions: "For what have you entered ihram?" Some said: For Hajj; some said: For Umrah; and some said: O Messenger of Allah, for that for which you have entered ihram. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Then all of you come out of ihram, except whoever has brought the sacrificial animal (hady). For had I known beforehand what I came to know afterwards, I would not have brought the sacrificial animal, so that I too would be out of ihram with you." (The narrator says:) And he (peace and blessings be upon him) had brought one hundred camels as sacrificial animals, in order to garland them. (The narrator) Muhammad bin Salamah did not mention the story of Sayyiduna Suraqah (may Allah be pleased with him).
