حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، ثنا مُسَدَّدٌ، ثنا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي بِشْرٍ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ أَبِي رَبَاحٍ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بن عَبْدِ اللهِ، قَالَ: «قَدِمْنَا مُهِلِّينَ بِالْحَجِّ، فَأَمَرَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ نَجْعَلَهَا عُمْرَةً، وَنَحِلَّ، وَكَانَ مَعَهُ الْهَدْيُ، فَلَمْ يَسْتَطِعْ أَنْ يَجْعَلَهَا عُمْرَةً» ، وَلَمْ يَذْكُرْ أَبُو بِشْرٍ فِي حَدِيثِهِ قِصَّةَ سُرَاقَةَ بْنِ مَالِكٍ
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) says: We arrived in ihram for Hajj, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered us to make it an Umrah and come out of ihram. He (peace and blessings be upon him) had the sacrificial animal (hady) with him, so he (peace and blessings be upon him) himself could not make it an Umrah. (The narrator) Abu Bishr did not mention the story of Sayyiduna Suraqah bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) in his narration.
