Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 6539 — We set out with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ

Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) says: We set out with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) intending Hajj; we had no intention other than Hajj. Then when we reached Sarif, Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) began menstruating. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came in to her while she was weeping, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "What makes you weep?" She said: This affliction has befallen me. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "You are only one of the daughters of Adam; what befalls them befalls you too." Then we reached Makkah when four nights of Dhu al-Hijjah had passed, and we performed tawaf of the House of Allah and between Safa and Marwah as the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) had commanded us. Then we discussed among ourselves and said: We set out intending Hajj, wanting nothing but Hajj and having no other intention, until when only four nights remained between us and Arafat, our private parts are dripping semen from (relations with) women! This reached the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) stood up to deliver a sermon and said: "Umrah has entered into Hajj. Had I known beforehand what I came to know afterwards, I would not have brought the sacrificial animal (hady), and were it not for the sacrificial animal, I would have come out of ihram. So whoever does not have a sacrificial animal with him, let him come out of ihram." Upon this Sayyiduna Suraqah bin Malik bin Ju'shum (may Allah be pleased with him) said: O Messenger of Allah, tell us as though we had been born only today: is this Umrah of ours for this year only, or forever? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Forever." Then we went to Arafah, and when it was time to return, Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: O Messenger of Allah, all of you have performed tawaf of the House of Allah and between Safa and Marwah, while I have not performed tawaf? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "You have the same as the others have." She said: But I feel something in my heart. So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) stopped and waited for her in the upper part of the valley of Makkah, and had Abd al-Rahman bin Abi Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) take her on his mount, until she reached al-Tan'im.
