حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى الْحُلْوَانِيُّ، ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْحَمِيدِ بْنِ سُلَيْمَانَ، عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ، عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ قَالَ: " أَوْلَمَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حِينَ دَخَلَتْ عَلَيْهِ صَفِيَّةُ فَقُلْتُ: أَيُّ شَيْءٍ كَانَ فِي وَلِيمَتِهِ؟ فَقَالَ: «مَا كَانَ إِلَّا التَّمْرُ وَالسَّوِيقُ»
Abu Hazim narrated that Sayyiduna Sahl bin Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) held a wedding feast (walimah) when Sayyidah Safiyyah (may Allah be pleased with her) came to him." I asked: What was in his wedding feast? He said: "There was nothing in it but dates and sawiq (barley meal)."
