Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 5560 — from his father that he was

Abu Umamah bin Sahl bin Hunayf narrates from his father that he was with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) on one of his expeditions. On the way they passed a pond, and he bathed in it. He was a man with a beautiful physique. A man from the Ansar passed by him and, marvelling at his form, said: I have never seen anything like what I have seen today, nor the skin of a secluded maiden. He collapsed, and was carried to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). He (peace and blessings be upon him) asked him, and he told him what the Ansari had said; he said: So-and-so passed by me and said such-and-such. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When one of you sees something in his brother that pleases him, whether in his person or in his wealth, what prevents him from praying for blessing upon him? Indeed, the evil eye is real."
