Sayyiduna Amir bin Rabi'ah (may Allah be pleased with him) informed Abu Umamah bin Sahl bin Hunayf al-Ansari that he passed by Sahl bin Hunayf (may Allah be pleased with him) while he was bathing at al-Kharrar, and he said: By Allah! I have never ever seen anything like what I have seen today, nor the skin of a secluded maiden. Sahl (may Allah be pleased with him) collapsed. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was called, and it was said: O Messenger of Allah! Will you come to Sahl bin Hunayf? By Allah! He cannot even raise his head. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do you suspect anyone concerning him?" The people said: Yes, Amir bin Rabi'ah passed by him while he was bathing, and he said: By Allah! I have never ever seen anything like what I have seen today, nor the skin of a secluded maiden. So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) summoned Amir and, expressing his anger with him, said: "Why would one of you kill his brother? He does not pray for blessing! Wash yourself for him." So Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) washed, and Sahl (may Allah be pleased with him) set off with the caravan.
