حَدَّثَنَا الْمِقْدَامُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ الْمِصْرِيُّ، ثنا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ مَسْلَمَةَ الْأُمَوِيُّ، ثنا الْمُغِيرَةُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ، عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ بْنِ سَهْلِ بْنِ حُنَيْفٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ: «جَاءُوا رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِمُقْعَدٍ زَنَى، فَضَرَبُوهُ بِأُثْكُولِ، أَوْ إِثْكَالِ النَّخْلِ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sahl bin Hunayf (may Allah be pleased with him) that the people brought to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) a man who was crippled and had committed adultery, and they struck him with a cluster stalk of date-palm, or (the narrator is unsure) a branch.
