حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْمُعَلَّى الدِّمَشْقِيُّ، ثنا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ شُعَيْبٍ، ثنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عَطَاءٍ، أَنَّ زِيَادَ بْنَ أَبِي سَوْدَةَ حَدَّثَهُ، عَنْ أَبِي عِمْرَانَ، عَنْ ذِي الْأَصَابِعِ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنِ ابْتُلِينَا بِالْبَقَاءِ بَعْدَكَ فَمَا تَأْمُرُنَا؟ فَقَالَ: «عَلَيْكَ بِبَيْتِ الْمَقْدِسِ لَعَلَّ اللهُ أَنْ يَرْزُقَكَ ذُرِّيَّةً تَغْدُو إِلَيْهِ وَتَرُوحُ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Dhu al-Asabi' (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: O Messenger of Allah, if we are tried with remaining alive after you, what do you command us? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Hold fast to Bayt al-Maqdis; perhaps Allah will grant you offspring who will go to it morning and evening."
