Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 4223 — he said: We said: O Messenger of Allah

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ، ثنا الْحَكَمُ بْنُ مُوسَى، ثنا ضَمْرَةُ بْنُ رَبِيعَةَ، عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عَطَاءٍ، عَنْ أَبِي عِمْرَانَ، عَنْ ذِي الْأَصَابِعِ، قَالَ: قُلْنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنِ ابْتُلِينَا بَعْدَكَ بِالْبَقَاءِ أَيْنَ تَأْمُرُنَا؟، قَالَ: «عَلَيْكُمْ بِبَيْتِ الْمَقْدِسِ، فَلَعَلَّهُ أَنْ يَنْشَأَ لَكُمْ ذُرِّيَّةٌ يَغْدُونَ إِلَى ذَلِكَ الْمَسْجِدِ، وَيَرُوحُونَ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Dhu al-Asabi' (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: We said: O Messenger of Allah, if we are tried with remaining alive after you, where do you command us to go? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Hold fast to Bayt al-Maqdis; perhaps offspring will grow up for you who will go to that mosque morning and evening."
