حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ الْمَكِّيُّ، ثنا النُّعْمَانُ بْنُ شِبْلٍ الْبَاهِلِيُّ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ الْمُخَرِّمِيُّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْكَرِيمِ بْنِ صُهَيْبٍ، عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ، قَالَ: رَآنِي الْحَكَمُ - قَالَ النُّعْمَانُ: أُرَاهُ الْغِفَارِيَّ - وَأَنَا آكُلُ وَأَنَا غُلَامٌ مِنْ هَاهُنَا وَهَاهُنَا، فَقَالَ: يَا بُنَيَّ لَا تَأْكُلْ هَكَذَا، هَكَذَا يَأْكُلُ الشَّيْطَانُ، «إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ إِذَا وَضَعَ يَدَهُ فِي الْقَصْعَةِ أَوْ فِي الْإِنَاءِ لَمْ تُجَاوِزْ أَصَابِعُهُ مَوْضِعَ كَفِّهِ»
Ja'far bin Abdullah (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Al-Hakam (may Allah be pleased with him) saw me (al-Nu'man said: I think he was al-Ghifari (may Allah be pleased with him)) while I was a boy, eating from here and there. So he said: My son, do not eat like this; this is how Satan eats. "When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) placed his hand in a bowl or vessel, his (peace and blessings be upon him) fingers did not go beyond the place of his palm."
