Abu al-Mu'alla (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Sayyiduna al-Hakam al-Ghifari (may Allah be pleased with him) said: O plague, take me to you. At this a man from the people said to him: Why do you say this, when I have heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "Beware! None of you should wish for death"? He said: I have heard what you have heard, but I want to hasten (to death) before six things: the selling of judgements, an abundance of police (guards), the rule of children, the shedding of blood, the severing of family ties, and a generation that will arise at the end of time who will take the Qur'an as musical instruments.
