حَدَّثَنَا زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ يَحْيَى السَّاجِيُّ، ثنا عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ بْنُ غِيَاثٍ، ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَأَى فِيمَا يَرَى النَّائِمُ، قَالَ: «رَأَيْتُ كَأَنِّي مُرْدِفٌ كَبْشًا، وَكَأَنَّ ظُبَةَ سَيْفِي انْكَسَرَتْ، فَأَوَّلْتُ أَنِّي أَقْتُلُ كَبْشَ الْقَوْمِ، وأَوَّلْتُ ظُبَةَ سَيْفِي قَتْلَ رَجُلٍ مِنْ عِتْرَتِي» . «فَقُتِلَ حَمْزَةُ، وَقَتَلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ طَلْحَةَ، وَكَانَ صَاحِبَ اللِّوَاءِ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) saw a dream and said: "I saw as though I had a ram riding behind me, and as though the tip of my sword had broken. I interpreted it to mean that I would kill the chief of the people, and I interpreted the tip of my sword to mean that a man of my family would be killed." So Hamzah was martyred, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) killed Talhah, who was the standard-bearer of the disbelievers.
