Umarah bin Umayr said: When the heads of Ubaydullah bin Ziyad and his companions were brought, they were set up in al-Rahbah (the open square). I reached there while the people were saying: It has come, it has come! And there was a snake that came, passing between the heads until it entered the nostril of Ubaydullah. It stayed a little while, then came out and went away. Then the people said: It has come again. It did this two or three times.
