حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى الصُّوفِيُّ، نا أَبُو غَسَّانَ، ثنا عَبْدُ السَّلَامِ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ كُرْدُوسٍ، عَنْ حَاجِبِ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ، قَالَ: " دَخَلْتُ الْقَصْرَ خَلْفَ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ حِينَ قُتِلَ الْحُسَيْنُ، فَاضْطَرَمَ فِي وَجْهِهِ نَارٌ، فَقَالَ هَكَذَا بِكُمِّهِ عَلَى وَجْهِهِ، فَقَالَ: هَلْ رَأَيْتَ؟ قُلْتُ: نَعَمْ، فَأَمَرَنِي أَنْ أَكْتُمَ ذَلِكَ "
The doorkeeper of Ubaydullah bin Ziyad said: I entered the palace behind Ubaydullah bin Ziyad after Husayn had been killed, and suddenly fire blazed up in his face. He covered his face with his sleeve like this. Then he said: Did you see? I said: Yes. So he ordered me to keep it hidden.
