Aslam al-Minqari said: I went in to al-Hajjaj, and Sinan bin Anas, who had killed Husayn, came in. He was a brown-complexioned old man who had applied henna, with a long nose and blotches on his face. He was made to stand in front of al-Hajjaj. Al-Hajjaj looked at him and said: "Did you kill Husayn?" He said: Yes. Al-Hajjaj said: "What did you do to him?" He said: I pinned him with the spear and cut him to pieces with the sword. At that al-Hajjaj said to him: "Listen, the two of you will never be gathered in the same abode."
