Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 2294 — I said: O Messenger of Allah, set

حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ الْمَكِّيُّ، ثنا ابْنُ عَائِشَةَ، ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ، عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ، عَنْ جَرِيرٍ، قَالَ: قُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ اشْتَرِطْ عَلَيَّ فَإِنَّكَ أَعْلَمُ، قَالَ: «اعْبُدِ اللهَ لَا تُشْرِكْ بِهِ شَيْئًا، وَتُقِيمُ الصَّلَاةَ، وَتُؤْتِي الزَّكَاةَ، وَتَنْصَحُ الْمُسْلِمَ، وَتَبْرَأُ مِنَ الْكَافِرِ»
Sayyiduna Jarir (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I said: O Messenger of Allah, set the conditions for me, for you know better. He said: "Worship Allah, do not associate anything with Him, establish the prayer, pay the zakah, act sincerely towards the Muslim, and disassociate yourself from the disbeliever."
