Sayyidah Umm Tariq (may Allah be pleased with her), the freedwoman of Sa'd bin Ubadah (may Allah be pleased with him), said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to Sa'd bin Ubadah (may Allah be pleased with him) and gave the greeting of peace, but he did not answer and kept silent. She said: Then Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) felt regret and said to me: Go to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and tell him (peace and blessings be upon him) that we kept silent in the hope that he (peace and blessings be upon him) would give us more (greetings of peace). She (the narrator) said: Then it came and gave the greeting of peace at the door; I could hear its voice but could not see it. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "What are you?" It said: I am Umm Mildam (fever). He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "So it is you! Then neither welcome to you nor greeting."
