حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ التُّسْتَرِيُّ، ثنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ثنا جَرِيرٌ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي زِيَادٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ، قَالَ: أَدْرَكْتُ أَصْحَابَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَسَأَلْتُهُمْ عَنْ صَلَاةِ الضُّحَى، فَلَمْ أَجِدْ أَحَدًا يُحَدِّثُنِي، عَنْهَا حَتَّى أَتَيْتُ أُمَّ هَانِئٍ بِنْتَ أَبِي طَالِبٍ فَسَأَلْتُهَا، فَقَالَتْ: «أَتَى رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَيْتَ فَاطِمَةَ بِمَكَّةَ يَوْمَ جُمُعَةٍ فَدَعَا بِغَرْفَةٍ مِنْ مَاءٍ فَصَبَّهَا، ثُمَّ اغْتَسَلَ، وَسَتَرَتْهُ فَاطِمَةُ فَصَلَّى ثَمَانِ رَكَعَاتٍ لَمْ يُصَلِّ قَبْلَهَا وَلَا بَعْدَهَا»
Abdullah bin al-Harith (may Allah have mercy on him) said: I met the Companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and asked them about the Duha (forenoon) prayer, but I found no one who would tell me about it, until I came to Umm Hani bint Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with her) and asked her. She said: "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came to the house of Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) in Makkah on a Friday. He called for a handful of water and poured it, then took a bath, and Fatimah screened him. Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed eight rak'ahs; he had never prayed them before that, nor after."
