Sayyiduna Abu Kabshah al-Anmari (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The likeness of this Ummah is that of four men: a man to whom Allah gave both wealth and knowledge, so he acts according to his knowledge and spends it in its (proper) right; and a man to whom Allah gave knowledge but did not give wealth, so he says: Would that I had wealth like this one's, then I would act with it as he acts." The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "These two are equal in reward. And a man to whom Allah gave wealth but did not give knowledge, so he spends recklessly with his wealth and squanders it in what is not right; and a man to whom Allah gave neither knowledge nor wealth, so he says: Would that I had wealth like so-and-so's, then I would act with it as he acts." The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "So these two are equal in sin."
