حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُسْلِمٍ الْكَشِّيُّ، ثنا الْحَكَمُ بْنُ مَرْوَانَ الْكُوفِيُّ، ثنا عَمْرُو بْنُ ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي زِيَادٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ نَوْفَلٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ بْنِ رَبِيعَةَ، قَالَ: دَخَلَ الْعَبَّاسُ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، إِنَّ قُرَيْشًا تَلَاقَى بِوُجُوهٍ مُشْرِقَةٍ، وَتَلْقَانَا بِخِلَافِ ذَلِكَ، فَغَضِبَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَتَّى دَرَّ الْعَرَقُ الَّذِي بَيْنَ عَيْنَيْهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ: «لَا يَذُوقُ عَبْدٌ طَعْمَ الْإِيمَانِ حَتَّى يُحِبَّكُمْ لِلَّهِ وَلِرَسُولِهِ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abd al-Muttalib bin Rabi'ah (may Allah be pleased with him) that Sayyiduna al-Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "O Messenger of Allah, Quraysh meet one another with cheerful faces, but treat us otherwise." Hearing this, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) became angry until sweat appeared between his eyes, then he said: "No servant will taste the sweetness of faith until he loves you for the sake of Allah and His Messenger."
