حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ التُّسْتَرِيُّ، ثنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي بُكَيْرٍ، ثنا شِبْلُ بْنُ عَبَّادٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا قَزَعَةَ، يُحَدِّثُ عَمْرَو بْنَ دِينَارٍ، عَنْ حَكِيمِ بْنِ مُعَاوِيَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ: قُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ مَا حَقُّ زَوْجَةِ أَحَدِنَا عَلَيْهِ؟، قَالَ: «تُطْعِمُهَا إِذَا طَعِمْتَ، وَتَكْسُوهَا إِذَا اكْتَسَيْتَ، وَلَا تَضْرِبِ الْوَجْهَ، وَلَا تُقَبِّحْهُ، وَلَا تَهْجُرْ إِلَّا فِي الْبَيْتِ»
وَأَشَارَ بِيَدِهِ إِلَى الشَّامِ فَقَالَ: «هَهُنَا تُحْشَرُونَ رُكْبَانًا وَمُشَاةً عَلَى وُجُوهِكُمْ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ، عَلَى أَفْوَاهِكُمُ الْفِدَامُ، وَتُوفُونَ سَبْعِينَ أُمَّةً أَنْتُمْ آخِرُهَا وَأَكْرَمُهَا عَلَى اللهِ، وَإِنَّ أَوَّلَ مَا يُعْرِبُ عَنْ أَحَدِكُمْ فَخِذُهُ»
وَأَشَارَ بِيَدِهِ إِلَى الشَّامِ فَقَالَ: «هَهُنَا تُحْشَرُونَ رُكْبَانًا وَمُشَاةً عَلَى وُجُوهِكُمْ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ، عَلَى أَفْوَاهِكُمُ الْفِدَامُ، وَتُوفُونَ سَبْعِينَ أُمَّةً أَنْتُمْ آخِرُهَا وَأَكْرَمُهَا عَلَى اللهِ، وَإِنَّ أَوَّلَ مَا يُعْرِبُ عَنْ أَحَدِكُمْ فَخِذُهُ»
Sayyiduna Mu'awiyah bin Haydah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I said, "O Messenger of Allah, what is the right of the wife of one of us over him?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When you eat, feed her; when you clothe yourself, clothe her; do not strike the face, do not revile, and do not keep away from her except within the house."
And he (peace and blessings be upon him) pointed with his hand towards Syria (al-Sham) and said: "Here you will be gathered on the Day of Resurrection, riding and on foot, on your faces, with your mouths sealed. You complete the number of seventy nations; you are the last of them and the most honoured of them before Allah, and the first thing to testify about each of you will be his thigh."
