Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 16926 — Sayyiduna Mu'awiyah addressed the people

Kaysan, the freed slave of Mu'awiyah, narrates: Sayyiduna Mu'awiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) addressed the people and said: "O people! The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade nine things, and I forbid you from them: wailing (over the dead), poetry, the display of adornment (tabarruj), images, the skins of predatory animals, singing, gold, harr and silk."
