Kaysan, the freed slave of Mu'awiyah, narrates: Sayyiduna Mu'awiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) addressed us and said: "Indeed, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade nine things, and I forbid you from them. Listen! Among them are: wailing (over the dead), singing, images, poetry, gold, harr, saddles and silk."
