Qatan bin Qabisah narrated from his father, Sayyiduna Qabisah (may Allah be pleased with him), from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), that he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Taking omens from birds, drawing lines in the sand, and superstitious pessimism are part of sorcery (jibt)."
