حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ عِمْرَانَ السَّدُوسِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو سَلَمَةَ يَحْيَى بْنُ خَلَفٍ، ثنا عَبْدُ الْأَعْلَى، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْوَاسِطِيُّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ خَالِدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ، ثنا أَبِي، ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي عَرُوبَةَ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ، أَنَّ رَجُلًا أَعْتَقَ مَمْلُوكِينَ عِنْدَ مَوْتِهِ لَيْسَ لَهُ مَالٌ غَيْرُهُمْ، فَرُفِعَ ذَلِكَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، «فَأَقْرَعَ بَيْنَهُمْ، فَأَعْتَقَ مِنْهُمُ اثْنَيْنِ وَرَدَّ بَقِيَّتَهُمْ فِي الرِّقِّ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Imran bin Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man freed slaves at the time of his death, and he had no wealth other than them. The matter was brought to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) cast lots among them, freed two of them and returned the rest to slavery.
