حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الرَّازِيُّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَلْقَمَةَ الْبَيْرُونِيُّ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، ثنا الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ، أَنَّ رَجُلًا مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ أَعْتَقَ رُءُوسًا سِتَّةً عِنْدَ مَوْتِهِ، وَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ مَالٌ غَيْرُهُمْ، فَبَلَغَ ذَلِكَ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، «فَدَعَا بِهِمْ فَأَقْرَعَ بَيْنَهُمْ، فَأَصَابَ اثْنَيْنِ، وَرَدَّ أَرْبَعَةً فِي الرِّقِّ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Imran bin Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man of the Ansar freed six head (of slaves) at the time of his death, and he had no wealth other than them. This reached the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) called for them and cast lots among them; two gained their freedom, and he returned four to slavery.
