Sayyiduna Awf bin Malik al-Ashja'i (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) lifted with his stick a piece of a gold chain that was left over from the fay', and he was saying: "How will you be on the day when treasures of this are hoarded for you?" No one answered him. Then a man from the Companions of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: By Allah, we wish that some of it were hoarded for us; then whoever would be patient would be patient, and whoever would fall into trial would fall into it. So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Perhaps you will be one who is badly tried."
