It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Buhaynah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was sitting among his Companions when suddenly he (peace and blessings be upon him) supplicated three times: "May Allah Almighty send down His mercy upon that graveyard." At that time none of the Companions asked him (peace and blessings be upon him) which graveyard it was, nor did he (peace and blessings be upon him) himself name it for them. Then one of his (peace and blessings be upon him) Companions went to one of the pure wives of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) — whom the narrator thinks was Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) — (and informed her of this incident). So when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came to her, she asked him (peace and blessings be upon him) about that graveyard, whereupon he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "It is a graveyard in Asqalan."
Imam Abu Ya'la recorded this hadith in his Musnad.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Umar bin al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) one day mentioning the people of a graveyard. He (peace and blessings be upon him) supplicated for them and prayed abundantly for their forgiveness. Then, when he (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked about them, he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "These are the residents of the graveyard of Asqalan. They will be escorted to Paradise (with great honour and dignity) just as a bride is escorted to her husband."
This report is mawdu' (fabricated); its chain contains a narrator named Bashir bin Maymun, who is a liar and matruk al-hadith (abandoned in hadith) (Takhrij: al-Mu'jam al-Kabir of al-Tabarani: 12/10, Mawdu'at Ibn al-Jawzi: 2/52).
