حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكَّارٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا بَشِيرُ بْنُ مَيْمُونٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ يُوسُفَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ ، عَنْ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ يَذْكُرُ أَهْلَ مَقْبَرَةٍ يَوْمًا ، فَصَلَّى عَلَيْهَا ، فَأَكْثَرَ الصَّلَاةَ عَلَيْهَا ، فَسُئِلَ عَنْهَا فَقَالَ : أَهْلُ مَقْبَرَةِ عَسْقَلَانَ ، يُزَفُّونَ إِلَى الْجَنَّةِ كَمَا تُزَفُّ الْعَرُوسُ إِلَى زَوْجِهَا .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Umar bin al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) one day mentioning the people of a graveyard. He (peace and blessings be upon him) supplicated for them and prayed abundantly for their forgiveness. Then, when he (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked about them, he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "These are the residents of the graveyard of Asqalan. They will be escorted to Paradise (with great honour and dignity) just as a bride is escorted to her husband."
