بَابُ فَضْلِ عمار بن ياسر رضي اللَّهُ عَنْهُ
The virtue of Ammar bin Yasir (may Allah be pleased with him)

( 174 ) تَقَدَّمَ فِي الْبَابِ قَبْلَهُ غَيْرُ حَدِيثٍ فِيهِ .
وَقَالَ إِسْحَاقُ : أَخْبَرَنَا وَهْبُ بْنُ جَرِيرٍ ، ثَنَا أَبِي ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ الْحَسَنَ ، يَقُولُ : قَالَ عَمَّارُ بْنُ يَاسِرٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ : قَاتَلْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْجِنَّ وَالْإِنْسَ ، قِيلَ : وَكَيْفَ قَاتَلْتَ الْجِنَّ ؟ قَالَ : نَزَلْنَا مَنْزِلًا فَأَخَذْتُ قِرْبَتِي وَدَلْوِي لِأَسْتَقِيَ ، فَقَالَ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : إِنَّهُ سَيَأْتِيكَ عَلَى الْمَاءِ آتٍ يَمْنَعُكَ . فَلَمَّا كُنْتُ عَلَى الْبِئْرِ أَتَانِي رَجُلٌ أَسْوَدُ كَأَنَّهُ مَرْسٌ فَقَالَ : إِنَّكَ لَا تَسْتَقِي الْيَوْمَ مِنْهَا ذَنُوبًا ، فَأَخَذَنِي فَأَخَذْتُهُ فَصَرَعْتُهُ ، ثُمَّ أَخَذْتُ حَجَرًا فَكَسَرْتُ أَنْفَهُ وَوَجْهَهُ ، ثُمَّ مَلَأْتُ قِرْبَتِي فَأَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ : هَلْ أَتَاكَ عَلَى الْمَاءِ أَحَدٌ ؟ فَقُلْتُ : رَجُلٌ أَسْوَدُ ، فَأَخْبَرْتُهُ بِالَّذِي صَنَعْتُ ، فَقَالَ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : ذَاكَ الشَّيْطَانُ .
* هَذَا إِسْنَادٌ مُنْقَطِعٌ وَرِجَالُهُ ثِقَاتٌ .
( 176 ) وَحَدِيثُ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ فِي تَرْجَمَتِهِ .
( 177 ) وَالْأَحَادِيثُ الْوَارِدَةُ فِي : " تَقْتُلُ عَمَّارًا الْفِئَةُ الْبَاغِيَةُ " - تَأْتِي إِنْ شَاءَ اللهُ فِي وَقْعَةِ صِفِّينَ ، وَكَذَا صِفَةُ قَتْلِهِ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ .
وَقَالَ إِسْحَاقُ : أَخْبَرَنَا وَهْبُ بْنُ جَرِيرٍ ، ثَنَا أَبِي ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ الْحَسَنَ ، يَقُولُ : قَالَ عَمَّارُ بْنُ يَاسِرٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ : قَاتَلْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْجِنَّ وَالْإِنْسَ ، قِيلَ : وَكَيْفَ قَاتَلْتَ الْجِنَّ ؟ قَالَ : نَزَلْنَا مَنْزِلًا فَأَخَذْتُ قِرْبَتِي وَدَلْوِي لِأَسْتَقِيَ ، فَقَالَ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : إِنَّهُ سَيَأْتِيكَ عَلَى الْمَاءِ آتٍ يَمْنَعُكَ . فَلَمَّا كُنْتُ عَلَى الْبِئْرِ أَتَانِي رَجُلٌ أَسْوَدُ كَأَنَّهُ مَرْسٌ فَقَالَ : إِنَّكَ لَا تَسْتَقِي الْيَوْمَ مِنْهَا ذَنُوبًا ، فَأَخَذَنِي فَأَخَذْتُهُ فَصَرَعْتُهُ ، ثُمَّ أَخَذْتُ حَجَرًا فَكَسَرْتُ أَنْفَهُ وَوَجْهَهُ ، ثُمَّ مَلَأْتُ قِرْبَتِي فَأَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ : هَلْ أَتَاكَ عَلَى الْمَاءِ أَحَدٌ ؟ فَقُلْتُ : رَجُلٌ أَسْوَدُ ، فَأَخْبَرْتُهُ بِالَّذِي صَنَعْتُ ، فَقَالَ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : ذَاكَ الشَّيْطَانُ .
* هَذَا إِسْنَادٌ مُنْقَطِعٌ وَرِجَالُهُ ثِقَاتٌ .
( 176 ) وَحَدِيثُ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ فِي تَرْجَمَتِهِ .
( 177 ) وَالْأَحَادِيثُ الْوَارِدَةُ فِي : " تَقْتُلُ عَمَّارًا الْفِئَةُ الْبَاغِيَةُ " - تَأْتِي إِنْ شَاءَ اللهُ فِي وَقْعَةِ صِفِّينَ ، وَكَذَا صِفَةُ قَتْلِهِ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ammar bin Yasir (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: "I fought alongside the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) against both jinn and humans." He was asked: "How did you fight the jinn?" He replied: "We camped at a place, and I took my waterskin and my bucket and went out to draw water. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said (as a prediction): 'Soon someone will come to you at the water who will prevent you (from drawing it).' So when I reached the well, a black man came to me who was like a rope (in his thinness and length), and he said to me: 'You will not draw even a single bucket of water from here today.' Then he seized me and I seized him (and we grappled), and I threw him to the ground. Then I picked up a stone and (striking him with it) left his nose and face bloodied. Then I filled my waterskin and came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he asked: 'Did anyone come to you at the water?' I said: 'Yes, a black man came.' Then I told him everything I had done with him, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: 'That was Satan.'"

And the hadiths that mention: "Ammar will be killed by the rebellious group" will come, if Allah wills, in the account of the Battle of Siffin and the details of his martyrdom.

وَقَالَ الْحَارِثُ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ أَبَانَ ، ثَنَا الْقَاسِمُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ ، عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ ، عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عَفَّانَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ : لَقِيتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِالْبَطْحَاءِ ، فَأَخَذَ بِيَدِي ، فَانْطَلَقْتُ مَعَهُ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَمَرَّ بِعَمَّارٍ وَبِأُمِّ عَمَّارٍ - رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا - يُعَذَّبَانِ ، فَقَالَ : صَبْرًا آلَ يَاسِرٍ ، فَإِنَّ مَصِيرَكُمْ إِلَى الْجَنَّةِ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Uthman bin Affan (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: "I met the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) at al-Batha' (a sandy plain of Makkah), and he took my hand, and I walked along with him (peace and blessings be upon him). Meanwhile he (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by Sayyiduna Ammar and his mother Sayyidah Sumayyah (may Allah be pleased with them both) while they were being severely tortured (by the disbelievers of Makkah). So he (peace and blessings be upon him) said (consoling them and giving them glad tidings): 'Patience, O family of Yasir, for your destination is Paradise.'"
This narration is mentioned in Musnad al-Harith; its chain contains a narrator named Abd al-Aziz bin Aban, who is da'if (weak) and matruk (abandoned). However, other authentic supporting reports and narrations concerning the patience of the family of Yasir and the glad tidings of Paradise for them are found in the books of hadith and Sirah.

وَقَالَ أَبُو يَعْلَى : حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْمِقْدَامِ ، ثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي الْعَلَاءُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَبْنِي الْمَسْجِدَ ، فَإِذَا نَقَلَ النَّاسُ حَجَرًا نَقَلَ عَمَّارٌ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ حَجَرَيْنِ ، فَإِذَا نَقَلُوا لَبِنَةً نَقَلَ لَبِنَتَيْنِ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was building the mosque. Whenever the people carried one stone, Sayyiduna Ammar (may Allah be pleased with him) carried two stones, and whenever they carried one brick, he carried two bricks."
