It is narrated from Sayyiduna Salamah bin al-Akwa' (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The stars are a source of safety and security for the inhabitants of the heaven, and the People of my House (may Allah be pleased with them) are a source of safety and security for my Ummah."
Musaddad narrated this report with his chain; Abu Bakr bin Abi Shaybah also narrated it through Ibn Numayr from Musa bin Ubaydah, and Abu Ya'la also reported it through the chain of Abu Bakr bin Abi Shaybah.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him). Hanash said: I heard Sayyiduna Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) while he was holding the ring of the door, saying: "O people, whoever knows me knows me, and whoever does not know me (let him know that) I am Abu Dharr. I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: 'The example of the People of my House among you is like the ark of Nuh (peace be upon him): whoever boarded it was saved, and whoever stayed behind from it perished.'" In another chain it is narrated from Abu al-Tufayl that he saw Sayyiduna Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) standing at the door, calling out: "O people, do you know me? Whoever knows me knows me, and whoever does not know me, (let him know that) I am Jundub, the Companion of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and I am Abu Dharr al-Ghifari. I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: 'The example of the People of my House among you is like the ark of Nuh (peace be upon him): whoever boarded it was saved, and whoever stayed behind from it drowned. And indeed the example of the People of my House among you is like the Gate of Hittah (the gate of repentance of the Children of Israel).'"
Al-Bazzar recorded it through al-Hasan bin Abi Ja'far, Ali bin Zayd and Sa'id bin al-Musayyib from Sayyiduna Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him), and mentioned in it words just like the hadith of Hanash.

It is narrated from the Mother of the Believers, Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her), that Sayyidah Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her), the beloved daughter of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), came, with an air of dignity and awe upon her, carrying Sayyiduna al-Hasan and Sayyiduna al-Husayn (may Allah be pleased with them both) on her sides (hips). In her hand was a small earthen pot for Sayyiduna al-Hasan (may Allah be pleased with him) containing hot food, until she brought it to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). When she placed the pot before him (peace and blessings be upon him), he (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "Where is Abu al-Hasan (Sayyiduna Ali)?" She said: "He is at home." So he (peace and blessings be upon him) called him, and they all sat down together to eat. Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) said that on that day the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not offer me any of the food, whereas before that it had never happened that I was present with him (peace and blessings be upon him) and he (peace and blessings be upon him) ate food without inviting me to share in it. Then, when he (peace and blessings be upon him) had finished eating, he (peace and blessings be upon him) wrapped them all in his cloak.
It has been narrated in abridged form.

It is narrated from Sufyan al-Thawri (may Allah have mercy on him) that he was told that some people came to Ali bin al-Husayn (Imam Zayn al-Abidin) (may Allah have mercy on him) and praised him excessively, so he said: "Woe to you! How great liars you are, and how bold and reckless you have become with regard to Allah Almighty! We are merely some of the righteous people of our community, and it is enough for us to be counted among the righteous of our community."
Al-Harith recorded this narration in his Musnad (Bughyat al-Bahith); its chain contains a balagh (an unattributed report) of Sufyan al-Thawri, because of which it is munqati' (broken), but Imam Zayn al-Abidin's aversion to excessive praise and his perfect humility are established by other authentic evidence.
