Surah al-Muzzammil

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both), concerning the saying of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, "And recite the Qur'an with measured recitation" [Surah al-Muzzammil: 4], that he said in its explanation: "While reciting it (the Noble Qur'an), make it very clear and distinct."
Imam Ahmad bin Mani' recorded it in his Musnad; its chain contains Muhammad bin Abi Layla, who is saduq (truthful) but suffered from poor memory.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that he recited this noble verse: "Indeed, the rising by night is firmer in impression and more correct (aswab) in speech" [Surah al-Muzzammil: 6]. A man said to him: We recite it as "wa aqwamu qila (more upright in speech)". To this he (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Indeed aqwam, aswab, ahya' and all other words like them have one and the same meaning."
Imam Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili recorded this hadith in his Musnad.

It is narrated from Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) that she said: "When this blessed verse was revealed, 'And leave Me (to deal with) the deniers, the people of ease and comfort, and give them a little respite' [Surah al-Muzzammil: 11], that is, '(O Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)!) Leave Me and these prosperous, comfortable deniers (to their state) and grant them a little respite', only a short while passed after that before the Battle of Badr took place."
[Al-Mustadrak 'ala al-Sahihayn of al-Hakim: 3770. Imam al-Hakim said that this hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of Imam Muslim, although he did not record it, and Imam al-Dhahabi also agreed with him.]
