It is narrated from Abu Mijlaz (may Allah have mercy on him) that Sayyiduna Umar bin al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) lay on his back in one of the gardens of Madinah and placed one of his feet on the other. In fact, the Jews used to fabricate lies against Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, saying: "Indeed, Allah, the Blessed and Exalted, finished creating the creation on Saturday and then rested." At this Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, revealed this statement: "And We certainly created the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them in six days, and no weariness touched Us" [Surah Qaf: 38]. So some people disliked placing one foot on the other (to avoid resembling this false belief of the Jews), until Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) himself did it.
Imam Ishaq bin Rahwayh (may Allah have mercy on him) said that al-Nadr bin Shumayl informed us; Abd al-Jalil bin Atiyyah narrated to him, and he transmitted this report from Abu Mijlaz.

It is narrated from Ikrimah (may Allah have mercy on him) regarding this statement of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic: "And tall palm trees with fruit-clusters arranged in layers" [Surah Qaf: 10], that he said: al-basiqat means "tall-statured, that is, very tall date palms," and al-nadid means "a cluster set layer upon layer, or piled one upon another."
Imam Musaddad (may Allah have mercy on him) said that Abu al-Ahwas transmitted this exegetical statement to us by way of Simak, from Ikrimah.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: I asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about this statement of Allah Almighty: "And at the setting of the stars" [Surah al-Tur: 49]. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Adbar al-sujud, that is, 'And after the prostrations' [Surah Qaf: 40], refers to the two rak'ahs after the Maghrib prayer, and idbar al-nujum, 'at the setting of the stars', refers to the two rak'ahs before the morning (Fajr) prayer."
Imam al-Tirmidhi recorded this hadith in his Sunan (3275); its chain contains al-Harith bin Abdullah al-A'war, a weak narrator, but this same explanation is also transmitted in other reliable reports.
