The rest of the warning against showing off

It is narrated from Muhammad bin Wasi' (may Allah have mercy on him) that Uways al-Qarani (may Allah have mercy on him) saw a man who, during his prayer, (in agitation) would at times stand up and at times sit down. He asked him: "What is the matter with you?" He said: "I stand up for prayer, and Satan comes and whispers that you are showing off, upon which I (in fear) sit down. Then my soul draws me back to prayer and I stand up, but he comes again and says that you are showing off, so I sit down again." He asked him: "If you were in seclusion and alone, would you still pray this same prayer?" He replied: "Yes." He said: "Then complete your prayer, for you are certainly not a show-off."
Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal (may Allah have mercy on him) narrated it in Kitab al-Zuhd.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that a man came to him, and he asked him: "How do you people deal with al-Dahhak bin Qays (may Allah be pleased with him)?" He said: "Our dealing with him is that when we are in front of him we say the things he likes, but when we turn away from him we say the opposite (against him)." At this Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: "This very conduct is what we used to count as hypocrisy (nifaq) in the blessed time of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)."
The chain of this narration contains Yazid bin Abi Ziyad, a da'if (weak) narrator, but its text is established by the narration of Sahih al-Bukhari (hadith no. 7178), which strengthens it.

Abbad bin Tamim (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates from his paternal uncle, Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Zayd bin Asim (may Allah be pleased with him), that I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say three times: "O you who announce the ruin and destruction of the Arabs! (Beware!) Indeed, what I fear most for you is showing off and hidden desire." (The narrator of the hadith) Abdullah bin Budayl bin Warqa' relates that we came to Imam al-Zuhri, and (at first) he ordered us to leave, so we were sent away; then he sent for us, so we came, and he narrated this hadith to us.
Imam Abu Ya'la recorded this hadith in his Musnad.

It is narrated from Urwah (may Allah have mercy on him) that he said to Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both): "O Abu Abd al-Rahman! We go in to the ruler, and he issues a judgement which we consider unjust and wrongful, yet (to his face) we say: 'Waffaqaka Allahu ta'ala' (May Allah Almighty grant you success in good), and we see a man among us praising and extolling that ruler." At this Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: "As for us, the community of the Companions of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), (we did not do so; rather we counted it as hypocrisy)."
Imam al-Bukhari narrated this hadith in abridged form through Muhammad bin Zayd bin Abdullah bin Umar from his grandfather (Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both)).
