It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: "During the illness in which he passed away, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) sent a message summoning me. So I came into his (peace and blessings be upon him) blessed presence and found him (peace and blessings be upon him) resting. So I bent over him (peace and blessings be upon him) (out of love and devotion), and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) raised both his blessed hands and embraced me."
Imam Abu Ya'la narrated it in his Musnad. One narrator in its chain is unnamed; however, on the strength of other supporting reports this hadith reaches the grade of hasan (good).

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: "When Sayyiduna Ja'far (may Allah be pleased with him) arrived from Abyssinia (to Madinah, after the emigration), the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) embraced him (in welcome)."
[Takhrij: Imam Abu Dawud narrated this hadith in his Sunan (no. 5220). Its chain contains Isma'il bin Abi Mujalid and his father Mujalid bin Sa'id, whose scholarly reliability has been criticised, on account of which the hadith scholars have declared this route da'if (weak); however, other supporting reports of the warm welcome and embrace given by the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) on the return of Sayyiduna Ja'far (may Allah be pleased with him) are found in the books of hadith.]

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whenever two servants who love one another for the pleasure of Allah, Glorified and Exalted, meet, and one of them receives his companion and shakes hands with him, and both of them send blessings upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), they do not part from one another until all their past and future sins are forgiven."
Imam Abu Ya'la narrated this hadith in his Musnad (2951); however, because of the narrator 'Durust bin Hamzah' in its chain, some hadith scholars have criticised its chain, and Allamah al-Albani declared it da'if (weak).
