قَالَ أَبُو يَعْلَى : حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ السَّامِيُّ ، ثَنَا حَمَّادٌ - هُوَ ابْنُ سَلَمَةَ - ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ يَحْيَى ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ ، قَالَ : رَأَيْتُ رَجُلًا مِنْ جُهَيْنَةَ لَمْ أَرَ رَجُلًا قَطُّ أَعْظَمَ مِنْهُ وَلَا أَطْوَلَ ، قَالَ : أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي أَزْمَةٍ أَوْ أَزْلَةٍ أَصَابَتِ النَّاسَ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِأَصْحَابِهِ : تَوَزَّعُوهُمْ فَكَانَ الرَّجُلُ يَأْخُذُ بِيَدِ الرَّجُلِ ، وَالرَّجُلُ يَأْخُذُ بِيَدِ الرَّجُلَيْنِ ، فَكَانَ الْقَوْمُ يَتَحَامَوْنَنِي لِمَا يَرَوْنَ مِنْ طُولِي وَعِظَمِي ، فَأَخَذَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِيَدِي ، فَذَهَبَ بِي إِلَى مَنْزِلِهِ ، فَحَلَبَ شَاةً ، فَشَرِبْتُ لَبَنَهَا ، ثُمَّ حَلَبَ أُخْرَى فَشَرِبْتُ لَبَنَهَا ، حَتَّى حَلَبَ لِي سَبْعًا ، قَالَ : فَذَهَبْتُ ، فَلَمَّا كَانَ مِنَ الْغَدِ أَسْلَمْتُ ، ثُمَّ جِئْتُ فَحَلَبَ لِي شَاةً وَاحِدَةً ، فَشَبِعْتُ وَرَوِيتُ ، فَقُلْتُ : وَاللهِ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ مَا شَبِعْتُ قَطُّ وَلَا رَوِيتُ قَبْلَ الْيَوْمِ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : الْمُؤْمِنُ يَشْرَبُ فِي مِعًى وَاحِدٍ ، وَالْكَافِرُ فِي سَبْعَةِ أَمْعَاءٍ .
هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحٌ ، أَخْرَجَهُ أَحْمَدُ مِنْ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ الْأَخِيرِ مِنْهُ دُونَ الْقِصَّةِ بِطُولِهَا .

Sa'id bin Yasar (may Allah have mercy on him) relates: I saw a man of the tribe of Juhaynah; I had never seen a person bigger in build or taller than him. That man related: I came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) during a time of famine or severe hardship that had afflicted the people. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to his Companions: "Divide these people among yourselves (as guests)." So one man would take the hand of one person, and another would take the hands of two, while the people avoided me on seeing my height and unusual size. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) took my hand and took me to his house. There he (peace and blessings be upon him) milked a goat and I drank its milk; then he (peace and blessings be upon him) milked another and I drank that too, until he (peace and blessings be upon him) had milked seven goats for me in succession (and I drank them all). He related: Then I left, and when the next day came I accepted Islam. Then I came again, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) milked only one goat for me, from which I was fully satisfied and my thirst was quenched. I said: "By Allah, O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! I have never before today been satisfied and content like this." At this the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The believer drinks in one intestine, while the disbeliever drinks in seven intestines."
This hadith is sahih. Ahmad recorded it through this same chain, but instead of the complete long story he mentioned only the last part of the hadith.

وَقَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ : حَدَّثَنَا زَيْدُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ ، ثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ عُبَيْدَةَ ، ثَنَا عُبَيْدٌ الْأَغَرُّ ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ ، عَنْ جَهْجَاهٍ الْغِفَارِيِّ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ : إِنَّهُ قَدِمَ فِي نَفَرٍ مِنْ قَوْمِهِ يُرِيدُونَ الْإِسْلَامَ ، فَحَضَرُوا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْمَغْرِبَ ، فَلَمَّا سَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : يَأْخُذُ كُلُّ رَجُلٍ بِيَدِ جَلِيسِهِ ، فَلَمْ يَبْقَ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ غَيْرُ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَغَيْرِي ، وَكُنْتُ رَجُلًا طَوِيلًا لَا يُقَدَّمُ عَلَيَّ أَحَدٌ ، فَذَهَبَ بِي رَسُولُ اللهِ إِلَى مَنْزِلِهِ فَحَلَبَ لِي عَنْزًا ، فَأَتَيْتُ عَلَيْهَا [حَتَّى حَلَبَ لِي سَبْعَةَ أَعْنُزٍ فَأَتَيْتُ عَلَيْهَا] ثُمَّ أُتِيتُ بِصَنِيعِ بُرْمَةٍ فَأَتَيْتُ عَلَيْهَا ، فَقَالَتْ أُمُّ أَيْمَنَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهَا : " أَجَاعَ اللهُ مَنْ أَجَاعَ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ هَذِهِ اللَّيْلَةَ ، فَقَالَ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : مَهْ يَا أُمَّ أَيْمَنَ أَكَلَ رِزْقَهُ ، وَرِزْقُنَا عَلَى اللهِ تَعَالَى ، فَأَصْبَحُوا قُعُودًا ، فَاجْتَمَعَ هُوَ وَأَصْحَابُهُ فَجَعَلَ الرَّجُلُ يُخْبِرُ بِمَنْ أَتَوْا إِلَيْهِ ، فَقَالَ جَهْجَاهٌ : فَحُلِبَ لِي سَبْعَةُ أَعْنُزٍ فَأَتَيْتُ عَلَيْهَا ، وَصُنِعَ بُرْمَةٌ فَأَتَيْتُ عَلَيْهَا ، فَصَلَّوْا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْمَغْرِبَ ، فَقَالَ : لِيَأْخُذْ كُلٌّ مِنْكُمْ بِيَدِ جَلِيسِهِ فَلَمْ يَبْقَ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ غَيْرُ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَغَيْرِي ، وَكُنْتُ عَظِيمًا طَوِيلًا لَا يُقَدَّمُ عَلَيَّ أَحَدٌ ، فَذَهَبَ بِي رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَى مَنْزِلِهِ ، فَحَلَبَ لِي عَنْزًا ، فَرُوِيتُ وَشَبِعْتُ ، فَقَالَتْ أُمُّ أَيْمَنَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهَا : يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ، أَلَيْسَ هَذَا ضَيْفَنَا ؟ فَقَالَ : [بَلَى] فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّهُ أَكَلَ فِي مِعَى مُؤْمِنٍ اللَّيْلَةَ ، وَأَكَلَ قَبْلَ ذَلِكَ فِي مِعَى كَافِرٍ ، وَالْكَافِرُ يَأْكُلُ فِي سَبْعَةِ أَمْعَاءٍ ، وَالْمُؤْمِنُ يَأْكُلُ فِي مِعًى وَاحِدٍ .
2439 \ 2 - وَقَالَ أَبُو يَعْلَى : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ ، وَأَبُو كُرَيْبٍ ، قَالَا : ثَنَا زَيْدُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ ، فَذَكَرَ الْمَتْنَ دُونَ الْقِصَّةِ .
2439 \ 2 - وَقَالَ أَبُو يَعْلَى : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ ، وَأَبُو كُرَيْبٍ ، قَالَا : ثَنَا زَيْدُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ ، فَذَكَرَ الْمَتْنَ دُونَ الْقِصَّةِ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jahjah al-Ghifari (may Allah be pleased with him) that he came with a delegation of his people intending to accept Islam. They offered the Maghrib prayer with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and when he (peace and blessings be upon him) concluded with the salam, he said: "Let every man take the hand of the person sitting beside him (and take him as his guest)." So no one remained in the mosque except the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and me. I was a tall, well-built man whom no one would come forward to take (as a guest). So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) took me to his house and milked a goat for me, and I drank it all, until he (peace and blessings be upon him) had milked seven goats for me one after another and I drank them all. Then food prepared in a cooking pot was brought to me, and I ate that too. Seeing this, Sayyidah Umm Ayman (may Allah be pleased with her) prayed (out of concern): "May Allah keep hungry whoever has kept the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) hungry tonight." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Hush, O Umm Ayman! He has eaten his allotted provision, and our provision is upon Allah Almighty." The next morning, when the people gathered and each man began telling about his guest, Sayyiduna Jahjah (may Allah be pleased with him) related that seven goats were milked for him and he drank it all, and that he also ate the food prepared in the cooking pot. Then they prayed Maghrib (the next night) with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said the same again: "Let each of you take the hand of the person sitting with him." So no one remained in the mosque except the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and me. I was a huge, tall man whom no one would come forward to take (as a guest). So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) took me to his house and milked a goat for me, and I drank it and was satisfied and content. Sayyidah Umm Ayman (may Allah be pleased with her) said (in astonishment): O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! Is this not our (yesterday's) guest? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Yes! (It is him)." Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Tonight he has eaten with the intestine of a believer, whereas before that he ate with the intestine of a disbeliever; the disbeliever eats in seven intestines, while the believer eats in one intestine."
