قَالَ أَبُو يَعْلَى : حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، ثَنَا جَرِيرٌ ، عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحِيمِ الصَّايِغِ ، عَنْ قَهْرَمَانَ لِسَعْدٍ ، عَنْ سَعْدٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : مَنْ مَنَعَ فَضْلَ مَاءٍ مَنَعَهُ اللهُ فَضْلَهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sa'd bin Abi Waqqas (may Allah be pleased with him) that I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "Whoever withholds his surplus water (from others), Allah, the Blessed and Exalted, will withhold His bounty from him on the Day of Resurrection."
