قَالَ عَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا طَلْحَةُ ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ تَدَاوَوْا ، فَإِنَّ اللهَ تَعَالَى لَمْ يَخْلُقْ دَاءً إِلَّا وَقَدْ خَلَقَ لَهُ شِفَاءً إِلَّا السَّامَ " . وَالسَّامُ : الْمَوْتُ .
قُلْتُ : طَلْحَةُ هُوَ ابْنُ عَمْرٍو ، ضَعِيفٌ ، وَقَدْ خَالَفَ فِي سَنَدِهِ وَمَتْنِهِ ، أَخْرَجَهُ الْبُخَارِيُّ ، مِنْ رِوَايَةِ عُمَرَ بْنِ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي حُسَيْنٍ ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ ، قَالَ : عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ ، وَلَفْظَةُ الْمَتْنِ : مَا أَنْزَلَ اللهُ تَعَالَى دَاءً إِلَّا أَنْزَلَ لَهُ شِفَاءً ، وَلَمْ يَذْكُرْ أَوَّلَهُ ، وَلَا آخِرَهُ .
قُلْتُ : طَلْحَةُ هُوَ ابْنُ عَمْرٍو ، ضَعِيفٌ ، وَقَدْ خَالَفَ فِي سَنَدِهِ وَمَتْنِهِ ، أَخْرَجَهُ الْبُخَارِيُّ ، مِنْ رِوَايَةِ عُمَرَ بْنِ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي حُسَيْنٍ ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ ، قَالَ : عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ ، وَلَفْظَةُ الْمَتْنِ : مَا أَنْزَلَ اللهُ تَعَالَى دَاءً إِلَّا أَنْزَلَ لَهُ شِفَاءً ، وَلَمْ يَذْكُرْ أَوَّلَهُ ، وَلَا آخِرَهُ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O people! Seek medical treatment, for Allah Almighty has not created any illness without creating a cure for it, except sam." And sam means death.
I (Ibn Hajar) say: The narrator in the chain of this report, Talhah bin Amr, is weak, and he has contradicted (other reliable narrators) in both the chain and the text of this hadith. Al-Bukhari recorded it through the narration of Umar bin Sa'id bin Abi Husayn, from Ata, from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), and the wording of its text is: "Allah Almighty has not sent down any illness without sending down a cure for it." And al-Bukhari did not mention either the opening part or the final part of this hadith in his narration.
