It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to the house of Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her), and there was a child there whose nostrils were flowing with blood. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "What is this?" The people said that he was suffering from 'udhrah (inflammation and pain of the throat). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Why do you torment your children? It is enough for one of you to take Indian costus (qust hindi, a herb), rub it with water seven times, and then drip it (into the child's mouth) as medicine." The narrator said: So they did that, and the child recovered.
Its chain is hasan.
